Evolution of Corporate Governance The Nikko Memorial Foundation, established by Nikko, has been providing non-repayable scholarships since 1989 to students enrolled in universities and technical colleges in the Kinki region. Furthermore, the foundation provides research grants to researchers engaged in academic research related to technological development at universities and technical colleges in the Kinki region. Cumulative Number of Scholarships and Research Grants Awarded Donations Disaster Relief Support In the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes and heavy rainfall, Nikko donates disaster-relief shovels to the affected areas. Manufactured by the Nikko Group, these shovels feature a highly durable yet extremely lightweight design, making them invaluable during disaster recovery efforts. Donation of Disaster Relief Supplies In 2019, which marked its 100th anniversary, Nikko donated 1,200 disaster-relief shovels to Akashi City. The disaster-relief shovels manufactured by the Nikko Group feature a highly durable yet extremely lightweight design, making them easy and safe to use during disasters, even for those with limited physical strength. The donated shovels are utilized by the Akashi City Fire Bureau, as well as for the maintenance of waterways and parks within the city. Donation for COVID-19 Relief Efforts We contributed to the "Akashi Mutual Support Fund for COVID-19," established by Akashi City. Hoping for an end to the pandemic as soon as possible, we participated in this initiative to support healthcare professionals and local citizens. Donation to a Local Elementary School As part of our contribution to the local community, we donated funds and shovels to Akashi Municipal Eigashima Elementary School, the closest elementary school to our Akashi Head Office, to commemorate its 150th anniversary. The donated shovels, which are lightweight and can also be used during emergencies, were utilized during the commemorative tree-planting ceremony for the 150th anniversary.
