Solving Social Issues

In response to the growing scale of natural disasters and various social issues in recent years, the Nikko Group offers a broad range of solutions extending beyond asphalt and concrete plants. Here, we introduce Nikko's initiatives aimed at realizing a sustainable society and achieving our vision: "Creating robust, people-friendly cities around the world."

Early Recovery from Disasters and Building Resilient Cities

Increasingly Severe Natural Disasters: Early Road Restoration is Vital for Rapid On-Site Relief

To achieve early recovery from increasingly severe natural disasters such as major typhoons and earthquakes, the rapid restoration of roads to transport relief supplies is an urgent priority. Due to their physical properties, asphalt mixtures and ready-mixed concrete cannot be transported over long distances. Therefore, establishing a rapid supply of materials near disaster-stricken areas is essential. At Nikko, our top priority is to support the swift restoration of damaged plants.

Developing Disaster-Resilient Cities and Disaster Prevention Businesses by Leveraging Technology and Experience Cultivated in Our Long-Standing Plant Operations

The Nikko Group provides a variety of products and solutions aimed at building disaster-resilient cities. In addition to deploying mobile batching plants and mobile crushers to support rapid recovery during disasters, we are leveraging our extensive experience in the plant business to expand into disaster prevention-related areas, such as the flood barrier and temporary scaffolding businesses, to realize safe and secure urban development.

Initiatives for Achieving Carbon Neutrality

Combating Global Warming: The Urgent Need to Reduce CO2 Emissions from Construction Sites

In recent years, as the issue of climate change intensifies, reducing CO2 emissions has become a global imperative. In particular, asphalt mixing plants, which are essential for road paving in Japan, emit approximately one million tons of CO2 annually. It is estimated that Nikko-manufactured plants account for about 70% of these emissions. As a plant manufacturer, addressing this critical social issue is a vital mission for the Nikko Group. Together with our customers, Nikko is accelerating proactive initiatives toward the realization of a decarbonized society.

Empowering Customers' Transition to Carbon Neutrality with Innovative Technologies and Next-Generation Fuels

The Nikko Group supports our customers in reducing their CO2 emissions. For asphalt mixing plants, we are developing new technologies that dramatically improve fuel efficiency and burners compatible with next-generation fuels such as hydrogen. This facilitates a smooth fuel transition for our customers and achieves significant CO2 reductions. Furthermore, by contributing to technologies that sequester CO2 within concrete, we are helping to decarbonize construction sites as a whole. We provide comprehensive support for our customers' business activities toward the realization of a sustainable society.
